Mardi Himal Base Camp

A newly opened route, the Mardi Himal Trek is a hidden treasure in the Annapurna region.  Mardi Himal trek offer spectacular views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre and Manaslu ranges. Mardi Himal base camp, Sidhing village and Lwang are the major attraction of this trek.

  1. Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

     

    A representative from Adventure Kora will escort you from the airport to your hotel. In the afternoon, you can opt to  take a short excursion through the city, especially the Kathmandu Durbar Square to take you on a cultural and historical tour of the ancient city.  

  2. Kathmandu Trek Preparation Day

     

    If you still have some last minute trek supplies to purchase, our guides will take you to some of the adventure sports store. We’ll head back to the hotel for dinner where the guide will orient you about the trek.  

  3. Drive to Pokhara

     

    Right after breakfast, we’ll head out to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. It’s a 6 hours drive from Kathmandu. As you near Pokhara, you will be greeted by peaks of Mount Fishtail. You can head out to the lakeside area to take a boat around the Phewa Lake.  

  4. Drive to Kande and trek to Forest camp (2100m/6,720ft): 30 minutes drive, 4-5 hours trek

     

    We’ll start early to drive towards Kande. Located on a hilltop, Kande offers pleasant views of the mountains. We’ll then trek to Deurali, a slightly steep uphill climb..The trail will from Deurali to the forest camp takes you through a pleasant trail of dense forest of oak, and rhododendron. Forest camp area, is a pleasant clearing with clustered lodges that offers basic facilities.  

  5. Forest Camp to High camp (2970m/9504ft): 5-6 hours

     

    We will be heading to a slightly higher altitude today. The trail will take us through dense forest which starts to thin out while we gain altitude. Be prepared for a strenuous and longer trek the next morning. The open ridge in this route offers stunning views of the mountains.  

  6. High camp to Upper Viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to Low camp: 4-5 hours

     

    Since we are jumping directly from 2990m to 4250m, the hike will be strenuous. If incase you feel uneasy at any part of the journey, inform your guide. The view from the base camp promises spectacular view of Mardi Himal peak. After an hour, we will descend towards the middle camp.  

  7. Low camp to Sidhing Camp and drive to Pokhara (1700m/5440ft)

     

    On the last leg of the trek, we'll head down towards Sidhing Camp. Enjoy your last few hours of respite before we head down to the busy city of Pokhara again.  

  8. Pokhara to Kathmandu

     

    The drive to Pokhara is very scenic, passing through villages, and offering glimpses of mountains at every turn. At Kathmandu, you can spend your remaining day at leisure.       

  9. Final Departure

     

    A representative from Adventure Kora will drop you off at the airport.
