The Chola Pass Trek is a well-known hiking trail in Nepal's Everest region. Beautiful landscapes of the Khumbu valley, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many more, can be experienced on this trek. To reach the Gokyo Lakes, trekkers must first go from Lukla to Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Everest Base Camp, and Chola Pass.
Getting over the Chola Pass, at an elevation of around 5,420 meters, is no small achievement. However, the Gokyo Lakes and the nearby mountains are magnificent, so the hike is well worth it. After trekkers have made it over Chola Pass, they go down to Nogzumpa Glacier and then on to Gokyo, RI.
The trek is classed as a "moderate to challenging" trip. Thus, adequate fitness and acclimatization are required. This trek is best done between March and May or September and December when the weather is mild and the sky is often transparent and blue.
